Scribet Legal

By downloading, installing, or using Scribet ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Elidron LLC ("Elidron," "we," or "us").
Elidron grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or commercial voice-to-text workflows on macOS devices you own or control. You may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code except where applicable law prohibits that restriction; (b) rent, lease, resell, or sublicense the App itself; (c) use the App to create a competing product.
Scribet is designed for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later. Intel Macs and older macOS versions are not supported unless we separately state otherwise. Features may require Microphone, Accessibility, Speech Recognition, or related macOS permissions.
Scribet is a local-first application. Recordings, transcripts, settings, models, and history are designed to remain on your Mac unless you choose to share, paste, sync, back up, export, or download data through another service. By using the App, you agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains how local data and permissions are handled.
Scribet can download or use third-party transcription models and supporting files. Those materials may be hosted by third parties and may be subject to separate licenses, model cards, acceptable use policies, or restrictions. You are responsible for complying with those terms when using downloaded or user-provided models.
Speech-to-text output may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or affected by audio quality, model selection, language, accents, background noise, or hardware performance. You should review and edit transcripts before relying on them for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes use.
Scribet may place transcribed text on the macOS clipboard and paste it into the currently focused app. You are responsible for choosing the destination app and confirming that pasted text is appropriate before saving, sending, publishing, or otherwise using it.
Because Scribet stores data locally, permanent loss of your Mac, deletion of the App, clearing local data, or failure to maintain backups may result in irreversible data loss. Elidron is not responsible for lost recordings, transcripts, settings, models, or history.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND FITNESS FOR HIGH-RISK USE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ELIDRON LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, RECORDINGS, TRANSCRIPTS, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS, OR (B) USD $100.
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved through binding individual arbitration in Hillsborough County, Florida, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the App at any time without notice or liability.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
